Over Christmas break I took photos using the work I had done the week before. I had a lot of small quare photoas of various images and focused on arranging them with a special focus on composition. I ended up taping them to an angled corner of a room then I also took photos with a mirror. I tried to arrange the photos from most colorful to least colorful towards the edges. From here I just need to work with the lighting and cropping in lightroom to showcase my compositions. I might print out more than one photo and matt them together but I think they all turned out very well.

For my last portfolio project I want to create a collage of photos. I wanted to take photos of monochromatic subjects, so I thought the easiest way to do this would be to take photos at dusk. I took these at about 6pm, and some of them turned out really well. I think I might want to take more photos, maybe in the early morning or around 5pm. I don't know what the final collage will look like but I know I will need a lot of photos for my plan, so I might even use some of my old photos from previous photo shoots.
This week for my photo shoot I decided to go down to the river again. My last shoot there worked out really well so I thought I could try it again. I climbed under the railroad bridge and took pictures of the underside, perfectly fitting my theme of "different perspectives." I used an "aperture priority setting" so that I had the chance of getting good lighting. I usually have trouble with lighting, especially outside, but I think it worked well this time. I don't know how I want to prepare these photos but I definitely want to use the images of the bridge. Maybe I will cute the image an dmatt it at different elevations like my sailboat experiment. I used to think that taking photos outside was difficult but this shoot was very fun and productive, and I got some new subject material to work with.
This week while taking photos I tried to depict some series of objects that show change. The pile of rocks show three different formations of stacked rocks as if pictures were taken while it was falling apart. I got this idea from time-lapse photography and some still lifes I had seen. I like the idea of minimalism paired with the ides of time, and I think I will be able to work with what I have. I hope to edit the photos then matt them side by side to show the progression of ideas, but some of the images are nice by themselves.
For this photo shoot I tried to take pictures of common household objects or settings in a different perspective from normal. I was inspired to do this when I was looking through a photo gallery and found an image of a typical 80's household with someone sitting on a couch crossing their feet. What was unique about the image was that it was taken from underneath the couch up towards the feet. My main focus was around focusing the camera properly and taking the photo from the right vantage point to create a well-organized composition. I really enjoyed taking these photos and I think there are some good ones to work with, however, I might take more pictures in the same way now that I understand how everything turned out.
This week's photoshoot I tired to take pictures of situations that give the strong impression of somebody having recently left their mark. I think these types of situations are really eerie but can also be funny. People don't often consider what happens when they're gone, so this idea focuses on the opposite of action shots. The lighting was still kind of off and it made the photos grainy and out of focus. My goal for future photo shoots will include helpful lighting.
This week I tried to take photographs of series objects. Looking through the aperture magazine, I notices a lot of photographers using the traditional idea of three objects in a row, but then they would add a fourth object in a different position or with different characteristics. I really liked how this idea could create humor, so I tried to do it myself. I also liked the ideas of layering textures and patterns like some of the photographs from the open shutter studio. The idea of layering connects directly to my underlying theme of different perspectives, so I might try to incorporate some textures with the photographs I took this week. It was a lot easier to take the photographs I had envisioned by taking them inside unlike last week, and I think they will be easy to edit.
